When a young journalist sets out to uncover the mystery behind a valuable violin belonging to a celebrated virtuoso, he discovers the story of Fei and Kai. Their friendship begins in Singapore on the eve of World War II. Although they come from two different worlds, they soon form a bond through their extraordinary musical sensitivity - one that gradually blossoms into love.

The Japanese occupation brutally separates them. All Fei has left is an unfinished sonata and Kai’s promise that one day they will perform it together. Over the following decades, the violin becomes a silent witness to their story - a symbol of memory, hope and a bond that neither war nor the passage of time can break.

Hand-drawn animation by Ervin Han and Raúl García combines an intimate melodrama with a rarely explored chapter of Singapore’s wartime history. Music is more than just a backdrop here: it becomes a character in its own right, carrying this poignant story of loss, longing, resilience and healing.
