We are looking for bold, authorial and distinctive animated films from around the world. We are interested in animation as a fully fledged language of cinema. Animation that experiments, tells stories, surprises with form and searches for its own rhythm.
Films may be submitted to the competitions regardless of animation technique, including stop motion, drawn animation, puppet animation, cut out animation, 2D, 3D, mixed, experimental and hybrid techniques.
ETER Anima Festival 2026 will include three film competitions.
International Main Competition
A competition for authorial animated films from around the world. The Main Competition is divided into two categories: stop motion and computer techniques 3D.
Polish Animation Competition
A competition dedicated to Polish animation and creators connected with the Polish animation community. Eligible films include productions or co productions made in Poland, films by Polish filmmakers, works made at Polish film schools, art schools or higher education institutions, as well as films created by artists permanently active in the Polish animation scene.
International Children’s Film Competition
A competition for animated films aimed at young audiences and family viewers. The submitted film should be suitable for the age group indicated in the submission form.
Who Can Submit a Film?
A film may be submitted by its director, producer, distributor, film school, sales agent or another person or entity holding the rights to submit the film and authorize its public screening during the Festival.
The submitter must hold all rights, licences and permissions necessary for the film to participate in the Festival.

Selection
Competition films will be selected by the Selection Committee appointed by the Organizer. Submissions will be evaluated based on artistic, formal, technical and programme related criteria.
The Organizer may qualify a film for a different competition than the one selected by the submitter if the Organizer considers that the film better fits another competition section. The submitter will be informed of such decision.
